When we were growing up, we were told about one great king of ancient EWEs, King Agorkorli.

We were told he was a wicked King.
I had that perception like any other until l listened to one living great chief on radio in Ho giving a more neutral account.
Apparently, the king Agor Akorli hitherto was a calm King until something happened ( we were never told of that aspect)
In today's Ghana , I think one man is suffering similar fate.
My grandfather and many other grandmothers told me of how Rawlings was a "saviour" in those days. If you were less than 10 years in around 1979 to 1983, you would not have had a first hand fact about situations then. You would probably have been relying on what they wrote down . Are those writing the history neutral?
I saw the trailer of a joy news documentary last , entitled, "who killed the judges"
By my imagination, what that documentary would seek to do, will be what Prez. Kuffour's National Reconciliation Commission seek to do particularly with Rawlings.
Today , 27th June 2018, on the program " upfront" on joy news the caption is 39th anniversary of the execution of the generals.
....and the guest is a man who has now come not to like Rawlings.
Corruption amongst public officials and the possession of national wealth by only a few; to the detriment of the majority.
These are but just few of what inspire the revolution.
Today we ( mostly those around 30 to 40years) are those living and reviewing those era base on what is written down( mostly by those affected)
We give public platforms to those who have grown to not like Rawlings to give account of what some of them were even part of.
The man Rawlings is alive and I just believe neutral journalists will give him same platforms to also tell us exactly what it was that even led to lost of lives.
I believe Prez. Rawlings would love to give his account also to many who were not there.
This bias account of the past is increasingly painting bad image for this great man.
Unfortunately, the history books to tell the story, are written by those who were affected by the revolution
Unfortunately, the people who were saved by the revolution, like my grandfather are no more.
The generation who benefited and therefore voted Rawlings massively into Democratic power, are all passing on to eternity
Unfortunately his own party members who by far have not lived to the "golden principles" have come to not like him because he would not relent on the fight against corruption.
I dare the media to give Rawlings the public forum on those kind of programs so we hear him also.
Ana's Aremeyaw Anas is fighting corruption in a way that is permitted by this era.
And those that are affected are seriously after him. When those people have the chance, trust me they won't write a proper history of Anas.
President Rawlings have made enough history but am afraid those writing the history he has made are protecting their parochial interest.
Papa J , do us and your good self a great favour by making sure the true version of your history; the why's and the how's are "woven down" before this and the next generation are indoctrinated with writers' parochial interest.
I yearn and hope for the day I will meet you personally.
#Truth must stand
# Those who make history must be part of writing it.
